Meditation helps us focus, calm down, become aware, and begin to see things as they are. A properly trained mind is one ready for awakening. A “Zen Seven” meditation retreat enables serious practitioners to advance their cultivation and deepen their practice in the Zen Hall for seven consecutive days.
Participants must attend the entire duration of this 7-day Retreat and observe silence at all time. Meals will be provided.
To prepare yourself for this intensive retreat, please note the following prerequisites which must be met prior to the Zen-7 Retreat:
1) Enrolled in or graduated from Zen Center classes and/or serving as volunteers at the Zen Center;
2) Completion of one Full-day retreat in our Spring or Summer 3-Day Retreat Day, and Completion of 5 or more of our Half-day retreats in the past 12 months.
3) Or Completion of 30 or more sits on the Diligence Card in the past 12 months.
On behalf of Grand Master WeiChueh, founding Abbot of Chung Tai Chan Monastery, the Zen Center Abbot JianYing Shifu will transmit the Three Refuges on January 1, 2014. Anyone interested may contact the Zen Center for application.
