Grand Master Wei Chueh Presiding Over Ceremony and Delivering Dharma Talk at Chung Tai Zen Center of Sunnyvale, October 1, 2010

With great joy the Zen Center of Sunnyvale would like to announce that Grand Master Wei Chueh, founder of Chung Tai Chan Monastery and over 100 Zen centers throughout Taiwan and in the U.S. and worldwide, will grace the U.S. branches with a visit from Taiwan in early October, 2010. With an inimitable aura of calmness, a penetrating mind, and the ability to clearly elucidate the profound wisdom of the Buddha, the Grand Master was instrumental in revitalizing Chan (Zen) Buddhism in Taiwan.

The Grand Master will be at the Zen Center of Sunnyvale in the evening of October 1 (Friday). He will preside over the Transmission of Three Refuges, a formal ceremony in which laypersons make a profession of faith to become Buddhists, and deliver a Dharma talk. Those who are not taking the Three Refuges can observe from their seats. The Dharma talk will immediately follow the ceremony. We cordially invite you to attend this blessed occasion.

Seating will begin at 6:30 pm and the program will start at 7:00 pm. We anticipate a large turnout; please arrive early. The ceremony will be in Chinese and English; the Dharma talk will be in Chinese and be translated into English simultaneously.
